I have already paid the landlord - what should I do?
If you have already paid the balance that the landlord is claiming, then please get in touch urgently and share your proof of payment. This should detail the date, the amount and method of payment.
You will need to send this to [email protected] and you should also let your landlord or agent know. We will then liaise with your landlord to confirm that they have received your payment. If you have already paid the landlord the full amount, then you will not need to pay us.
My landlord is asking me for money, as well as claiming from Zero Deposit
You should not be paying for the same amount twice. However, if your landlord is claiming more from you than the total cover provided by the Zero Deposit Guarantee (i.e. if they are claiming for a value which is equivalent to more than 6 weeks' rent), then they can request payment for the additional amount.
If the landlord asks you to pay additional costs, then you should always be clear about what you are paying for.
If you feel that you are paying the balance owed twice, then please follow the steps in the question above.
I dispute the claim, what should I do?
If you dispute the claim, then please follow the steps outlined in our guidance on how to respond to a claim.
